Last 2 Weeks - Friday 6th September 2013

Hiya!!!

Can you believe it is already September which means I have nearly been gone 2 months - it has gone so fast!!! I apologise for not having wrote to you and updating the blog for a couple of weeks now but I have been busy with work and other things.

Work is going good and I am really enjoying my time here at ISEAL and out in Australia, not to mention (and rub in) that we hit the mid 20s (degrees) last weekend and at the beginning of this week, which isn't bad considering it is still winter! And yes for any of you wondering, I did rock the shorts and t-shirt combo and headed down to the beach in St Kilda (typical English tourist). It was so busy down there because the weather was so good and I spent half an hour chilling on the beach before walking down the pier!
Work is going well and I have been pretty busy in the labs the last two weeks being involved with a variety of testing and training. A study is starting in the altitude hotel this weekend, so on Wednesday I got involved with some of the pre-testing for that and next week I have to spend a night in the monitoring room.

Everything at the flat is also going well. My flat mates are really nice and I get along with them well and I promise I will put some pictures of it on here soon!!!

I didn't really get up to much last weekend and just had a pretty chilled one. Last Friday some of the phd students had their canditure presentations, which involves them presenting their proposed idea for their phd, after which it gets accepted or rejected so they can progress on to officially being a phd student! So it was a big day for them and after the 3 o'clock seminar we headed to the VU bar to celebrate. It was fair to say that we had a good few to drink. After 6 pints and realising it was 7 o'clock, I had to shoot back to Sue's because we were heading to the cinema to see Now You See Me for a charity night. The film was alright but then again I feel asleep through a good 30 minutes of it so I wouldn't take my word for it!!!

Anyway tonight my flatmate has some friends round for a sleepover because she is leaving to go to Essex (funnily enough) for 3 months, so I am going to chill with them for a bit!

Ciao xxx
