On Saturday we had a pretty chilled out morning at Darc’s
lazying about. Dad went for a run as did me and Darc while mum stayed home
relaxing (seen as she doesn’t relax at any other time of the year). After a
nice lunch we headed back to my apartment to quickly drop our stuff before
heading out again to see Hannah’s afternoon production with YABC (Young
Australian Broadway Chorus) of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
It was absolutely awesome and so professional and our little Han did amazing!
The singers in it were unbelievable and I was blown away at the standard of it.
Mum and Dad also thought it was really good and even Darc (a theatre first)
enjoyed it too. After we headed to transport bar for a drink before heading up
to Lygon Street (aka Little Italy) for a lovely Italian dinner. We finished the
night once again in Crown Casino where Darc managed to make $70 bucks on
blackjack (lucky git – should have sat in his chair) while mum managed to again
turn 5 bucks into $20!!!
It was another beautiful day on Sunday – Australia Day! We
started the day with a lovely French Toast breakfast courtesy of Darc and then
mum and dad headed off to the Shrine of Remembrance to see the 21 gun salute.
They then continued to walk towards the city where they come across a park
which had loads going on so they rang me and I went to join them. They had
filled the park with loads of old fashioned vintage cars, penny farthings and
activities which kids and families could get involved with. Mum and dad both
thought it was great! We walked all the way up to Fed Square where we sat along
the river and demolished a jug of Pimms before walking back through the food
part of the market where we grabbed a lovely chicken schnitzel burger and a
potato twist (which was yum). After, we headed back to the apartment and had a
relaxing couple of hours before we headed back into the city in the evening to
meet Sue and Hannah to watch the Docklands fireworks. It was a really lovely
evening and nice for mum and dad to see Sue and Hannah again before heading
home, the firework display was pretty good too!
Today we again had a chilled morning packing for Sydney and mum and dad unfortunately packing to go home, before then heading to Darc's and spending the afternoon soaking up another beautiful Melbourne day with drinks and a yummy BBQ - what better way to finish your time in Melbourne?! It was a very relaxing day followed by an early-ish night as tomorrow we have an early flight to Sydney to catch!
